Nordic Photobook Award 2024: Dev Dhunsi

Dev Dhunsi Wins the Nordic PhotoBook Award at EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival

Fotogalleriet and SPBH Editions are pleased to announce that artist Dev Dhunsi (born in 1996 in Trondheim, Norway) is the recipient of the prestigious Nordic PhotoBook Award.

The award jury, comprising educator and publisher Bruno Ceschel, Director of Self Publish, Be Happy; curator and photobook specialist Anna Planas, Artistic Director of Paris Photo; Miki Gebrelul, Curator and Head of Exhibitions at Fotogalleriet; and Antonio Cataldo, Artistic Director of Fotogalleriet, was captivated by the extensive geographical and historical breadth of Dhunsi’s proposal. Embracing the spirit of the award’s recent relaunch, the jury commended Dhunsi’s innovative and pioneering approach to the photobook format, which aligns with the prize’s elevated aspirations.

The jury also applauded the project’s dedication to celebrating multiculturalism and fostering a sense of collective identity amid external challenges.

Dhunsi’s upcoming photobook, titled ‘Fatherland,’ is set for publication in Fall 2025 by SPBH Editions.
