MOVE, I’M GAY!: PERFORMANCE

We are pleased to invite you to MOVE, I’M GAY! , a performance by Fredrik Høstaker & Paal Herman Ims that explores how it can be experienced to move as a gay man in public space.

MOVE, I’M GAY! examines the relationship between the body and the public, and how queer identity is manifested and challenged in everyday spaces. In the encounter between performative action and urban surroundings, an unpredictable interaction with people, cars and gazes occurs. The external factors become part of the work and concretize the insecurity and resistance that comes with being visibly queer. The work balances between humor, vulnerability and rebellion, where the body becomes the tool to see the risk and liberation that lies in taking place. The performance is a poetic and political act – a temporary, bodily manifesto of the right to exist freely in public space.

The performance is presented in collaboration with Skeive Scener during Oslo Pride 2026. The event is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance.

MOVE I’M GAY! is supported by Kobbel Kunstbyrå, Scenekunst Sør, Oslo Pride and will be performed at Fotogalleriet. The event is not part of the Spring Exhibition public program.
