EXHIBITION From 08.03.2013 To 14.04.2013

The exhibition coincides with the awarding of the Art Photography Prize by BKH – Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond (The Relief Fund for Visual Artists) to an artist participating in the Spring Exhibition. Established in 2010 and with an award sum of 100.000 NOK, it is one of the most endowed national art prizes granted to an artist exhibiting in Norway. The recipient of the award will be announced at the exhibition opening on Thursday, 7 March at 18.00.

The annual Spring Exhibition was established by Forbundet Frie Fotografer in 1976 and is a juried exhibition showcasing current tendencies in camera-based art. The jury selecting the participating artists is appointed by the members of Forbundet Frie Fotografer and in 2013 consists of Sveinn Fannar Jóhannsson, Maren Juell Kristensen and Kjetil Kausland in collaboration with Stephanie von Spreter, Director of Fotogalleriet.

The jury for the BKH Art Photography Prize this year consists of Ingvild Krogvig, art historian, critic and writer, Vanessa Ohlraun, Dean of the Academy of Fine Art/ Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Sveinn Fannar Jóhannsson, head of the exhibition jury.

The artists selected for the Spring Exhibition 2013 are Espen Gleditsch (born 1983 in Tønsberg, Norway, lives in Oslo), Linn Pedersen (born 1982 i Sortland, Norway, lives in Berlin and Lofoten), Sverre Strandberg (born 1977 in Oslo, lives in Oslo and Berlin), Gunnhild Torgersen (born 1985 in Ørsta, Norway, lives in Oslo) and Arne Vinnem (born 1978 in Trondheim, lives in Oslo).
