Forbundet Frie Fotografer and Fotogalleriet are pleased to announce the annual Spring Exhibition (Vårutstillingen) taking place at Fotogalleriet from 22 May until 28 June 2015.
The exhibition again coincides with the awarding of the Art Photography Prize by Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond (The Relief Fund for Visual Artists – BKH) to an artist participating in the Spring Exhibition. Established in 2010 and with an award sum of 100.000 NOK, it is one of the most endowed national art prizes granted to an artist exhibiting in Norway. The recipient of the award will be announced at the exhibition opening on Thursday, 21 May at 19.00.
The annual Spring Exhibition was established by FFF in 1976 and is a juried exhibition showing current tendencies in camera-based art. The exhibition is traditionally hosted by Fotogalleriet since the gallery’s foundation in 1977.
The jury selecting the participating artists is appointed by FFF and in 2015 consists of Vibeke Tandberg (head of jury), Jon Benjamin Tallerås and Mattias Joseffson in collaboration with Stephanie von Spreter (director of Fotogalleriet). The jury for the BKH Art Photography Prize in 2015 consists of Oda Bahr, Mats Stjernstedt and Vibeke Tandberg.
The artists selected for the Spring Exhibition 2015 are: Damir Avdagic (born 1987, lives and works in Los Angeles), Jeannette Christensen (born 1958, lives and works in Oslo), Pål Henrik Ekern (born 1981, lives and works in Oslo), Bjørn Erik Haugen (born 1978, lives and works in Oslo), Vegar Moen (born 1967, lives and works in Malmö and Røros) and Randi Nygård (born 1977, lives and works in Oslo and Berlin)
Vårutstillingen (Spring Exhibition) 2015 is supported by Norsk Fotografisk Fond (Norwegian Photographic Fund) and Norsk Kulturråd (Arts Council Norway).
