FUTURES

In 2022, Fotogalleriet joined FUTURES, a European Photography Platform that brings together the international photography community to support and nurture the professional development of emerging artists worldwide.

FUTURES is a growing network of photography organizations that fosters new and dynamic ways of strengthening the relationship between artists and the field, creating an ecosystem that encourages innovation, professional development, exchange, and imagination. Through tutoring sessions, networking events, residency programmes, publications, participation in major photography events across Europe, and an open call for exhibitions exclusively for FUTURES artists, the platform facilitates international exposure and engagement.

Fotogalleriet is proud to present Duy Nguyen, Signe Luksengard, Ikram Abdulkadir, and Minh Ngoc Nguyen as our selected artists for FUTURES 2026, representing the Nordic region.

The nominated artists were distinguished by the technical and conceptual rigour of their practices, and each reflect Fotogalleriet’s commitment to supporting artists who engage deeply with their communities and whose work contributes meaningfully the expanding possibilities of photography as a medium. Fotogalleriet looks forward to supporting their participation in FUTURES 2026 and to the contribution each will make to the network.

Each year, Fotogalleriet nominates a group of artists to join the platform and co-hosts a series of events that enhance the artists’ capacity, mobility, and visibility.
