Award ceremony BKH Art Photography Prize

Forbundet Frie Fotografer and Fotogalleriet are pleased to announce the annual Spring Exhibition (Vårutstillingen) taking place at Fotogalleriet from 21 March until 27 April 2014. The exhibition again coincides with the awarding of the Art Photography Prize by The Relief Fund for Visual Artists (BKH – Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond) to an artist participating in the Spring Exhibition. Established in 2010 and with an award sum of 100.000 NOK, it is one of the most endowed national art prizes granted to an artist exhibiting in Norway. The recipient of the award will be announced at the exhibition opening on Thursday, 20 March at 18.00.

The annual Spring Exhibition was established by The Norwegian Association of Fine Art Photographers (Forbundet Frie Fotografer) in 1976 and is a juried exhibition showing current tendencies in camera-based art. The exhibition is traditionally hosted by Fotogalleriet since the gallery’s foundation in 1977.

The jury selecting the participating artists is appointed by Forbundet Frie Fotografer and in 2014 consists of Maren Juell Kristensen, Kjetil Kausland and Jon Benjamin Tallerås in collaboration with Stephanie von Spreter, Director of Fotogalleriet. The jury for the BKH Art Photography Prize in 2014consists of Oda Bhar, Stina Högkvist and Maren Juell Kristensen, head of the exhibition jury.
